3 months ago I went to Dick Lovett to buy my 320d as I wanted to ensure good service and avoid dodgy dealers. I was willing to pay the premium for this service. It’s been a nightmare ever since. Let me list all the problems: 1. They allowed me to set the first day my financing payments would be taken out. As I had just moved house this was very important. As it happens they took the payment 3 weeks too soon, before I had been paid, and leaving me in a difficult financial situation. 2. Within a few days of getting the car, which on the surface looked great, the steering started to feel off. I took it in and was assured “it’s just the camber of the road, you’ll have to get used to it”. I left, was pretty sure it wasn’t just the road, and took it back. A mechanic came out with me and agreed it wasn’t right. Since then it has been in 6 times and as I speak is still being fixed. 3. I work 6 day’s a week from early until late and so can’t get to the dealership, I therefore rely on phone calls. Every time I call I am told the person I’m dealing with is busy and will call me back. They have not once called me back. 1 in 5 times I will happen to call when they are free. 4. My car has now been in for nearly 2 weeks and I have had no call as to how it’s going, when it will be ready etc. I have been given a courtesy car that doesn’t really serve my needs and has none of the additional extras that I’m paying for on my new car. I am stuck with no idea, yet again, of what’s going on. I’m paying for a car that I’m not using! 5. I bought the car as I commute for 2 hours every day across country lanes and main roads. I was told it was perfect for me by the salesman and it did look great. What he didn’t tell me was that because it’s the sport model it has wheels that make every notch in the road feel like a speed bump. A mechanic at BMW has since told me that this car is probably not really right for my needs... 6. I’ve been offered no support or hint of compensation for the fact that I haven’t had the car I’m paying for for over a month of the 3 months I’ve owned it. I have spent far too much of my time trying to call and arranging times to go in and pick my car up, before having to arrange a time to take it in again as it inevitably still has a problem. The staff are very pleasant to your face when you’re in the dealership, but as soon as you leave they don’t seem to care. It’s an infuriating situation that you don’t expect when paying the sort of money that they charge for their cars. Hugely disappointed.

Early days but my experience of purchasing the vehicle were second to none. As I live in mid Wales and a fair way from Bath most of the work was done online with Keith outstanding in answering all my questions. The only day I could make it to Bath was a Sunday to test drive and purchase, that day was Keith's day off but he came in anyway and couldn't have been more helpful
